Excelente balada gravada por Elvis no ano de 1971. For The Good Times revela muito do que Elvis estava sentindo em 1972, e foi adicionada no repertório de seus shows. A versão mais famosa da música apareceu no LP Elvis Live In The Madison Square Garden.

Essa canção também foi muito ensaiada em Março e Abril de 1972 durante as filmagens do filme Elvis On Tour. Mas como de costume permanecem inéditas até hoje, tanto a versão sendo ensaiada quanto a versão ao vivo que é considerada por muitos fãs a versão definitiva. For The Good Times permanceu no repertório no ano de 1972. Raramente cantou ela em 1973 e existe uma rara gravação do dia 31 de Maio de 1975 em Huntsville, Alabama. Mas sua última performance foi em um lendário show da turnê de Dezembro 76. Foi em Birmingham no dia 29/12 e aparece no bootleg Burning In Birmingham.

Kris Kristofferson foi o compositor da canção e ao longo dos anos ganhou muitos prêmios com outras canções também gravadas por Elvis. Exemplo é Help Me Make It Through The Night. Ele nasceu no dia 22 de Junho de 1936 em Brownsville, Texas e hoje é uma lenda viva.
